powerdirector 15 shut down / effects room

I am having problems in the effect room, but unfortunately I could not identify in what effect that suddenly the system closes and enters that form to send to the Cyberlink the occurrence. Twice this happened, just as I was knowing the effects to use in the next video.
My pdr15 is with the latest patch. I am unsure because I am afraid I will waste time in using some effect. Other information is that I uninstalled all new blue effects.
Has anyone had any problem with the ultimate powerdirector 15 closing unexpectedly using effects in this past year?
I am grateful for some useful reference!

Thank you for including the DxDiag results. Your video driver is current (and the final one available for your laptop), and the only problem I see is that your Dell SupportAssist app is frequently crashing. I can't tell if that's due to a problem with the app or with Windows itself, but you may want to uninstall that app (or have Dell troubleshoot the problem).

You should also verify that your Windows system files are in good shape. Maybe the Dell app can do that, but if not you can open an administrator-level command prompt (Google if needed), type sfc /scannow and hit <Enter>. Windows will run the system file checker which will verify and try to repair any damaged core OS files. If it finds errors but says it can't correct them all, run the command again.

If it found errors and was able to correct them, try running PD with the problem project and see if the crashes have stopped. Otherwise you can try uninstalling PD15 and then resinstalling it, then applying the 3929 patch again.

Were you adding different effects when PD crashed? Nothing bad will happen to your project or your laptop when PD crashes like this, so it's annoying but won't damage anything. You can try working on a different project or starting a new one, then see if there is a problem with one of the effects or if it was something with your other project.

Hi optodata

my machine is okay / I have been a developer for over 20 years / regarding the issue if I were
made an account in the instant that shutdown occurred would be
identified exactly the effect and under what conditions
shutdown occurred. / Is there any way to test the effect with the clip without having to take each one to the timeline? / It would be great if the powerdirector accepted a preview of the clip within its own effects room (more speed and user satisfaction). Thanks

What I would try is disable the two options in pref > Hardware Acceleration if you have not done so. The OpenCL option is used on Fx that have the blue Intel icon in the corner for your HD Graphics 3000 system. There was some prior OpenCL issues, especially in earlier PD15 releases, but not necessarily in the last year that I've seen. I assume you are using the latest PD15 release.

You can run Windows debugging tools and monitor PD while you're editing. That may give you more insight as to what's happening with PD when it crashes, but I'm not sure what you'd do with that info. PD15 is not actively supported at this point (meaning no more patches will be coming).

If I understand you correctly, you're either adding an effect to a clip or changing the effect's settings when PD crashes. Doesn't that tell you which step is responsible (but not why)? If you used ScreenRecorder and shared a link to the video, maybe that would help us understand what's going on and offer a workaround.

There is no way to preview the built-in effects from Cyberlink or NewBlueFX. The animation that plays when you click on the effect is as close as you can get. If you have Adorage or Pixelan effects, they have their own stand-alone viewer that does let you preview each effect on the clip(s) it's applied to before activating and saving it.
