I have Power Director 17 and Audio Director 6. Storage consists of a very fast internal M.2 1 TB drive and a new 8 TB external USB 3.0 drive. The C: drive has 300GB free and the External drive F: 6TB free where should I put which files? Produce time is not important to me. Editing time is important.

Since your second drive is external, I'd keep my project and media files on my C drive. You've got plenty of space and you'll get fast response with most current processors.

I'd save the external drive for backups and for archiving finished projects.

But if things get tight, I'd load a second hard drive INSIDE my computer, and use it to store my media and project files. You'll get very fast response without a USB bottleneck.
