Probelm with DivX file sizes

Hello all, I recently purchased the basic CyberLink Director and it worked pretty well. The CyberLink Director installed DivX support which made my video files pretty small and of very high quality (which was what I exactly wnated). However, I decided to upgrade to Ultra version and now when I produce the files with DivX with absolute same options like when I usded the basic versionthe same files turns to be 600mb instead of the 7 mb that I was able to produce with the basic CyberLink Director.

I am considering to require my money back in case no one can tell me how to get rid of this. Obviously the basic version worked very well but I decided to upgrade to the Ultra version and now I have very big problems. I hope that someone can help me fix this so that I can use the functions in the Ultra version while being able to render/produce files to DivX in small sizes like I was able to do before. Thanks in advance.

Hi Mirsad,

I've also noticed the problem you described. The Divx files I try to produce in PD8 Ultra, are now about 500 times larger than they were in PD7. I am hopeful that Cyberlink is working on a fix for this.

Hi Mirsad, Carsten

Does this post help any - seems a strange problem to arise. I did this test for the other guys just to see and getting down to 570 Mb didn't seem too bad.

Hi Adrian,

I read your post. But here's my current Divx problem.
First a brief history. Back when I was using versions 5 and 6, I'd produce my goofy little bits to Mpeg2. But as Youtube at that time had a 100MB upload limit, I began experimenting with Divx. And by Producing to Divx, a file that would have turned out to be around 120MB when Produced to Mpeg2, came in at about about 37MB when Produced to Divx.
However, since the addition of the 16:9 player in YT, and the expanded upload limit, I have been Producing to WMV 9 HD Standard, and haven't played with Divx in a while.

The other day (now with PD8 Ultra), I tried to Produce something in Divx (same version and settings as earlier). What should have turned out to be about a 24MB file, came in at over 600MB. I tried again with a few other "under construction" projects, and again, HUGE files were generated. Even larger, so it appeared, than what a straight uncompressed AVI Produce would have generated.
But since the Divx option is not a priority for me right now, I've just been waiting to see if others pipe up about Divx problems, and then I'd throw a "me too" into the mix.

I haven't tried to un-install/re-install either PD or Divx, but I can definitely confirm that my Divx is way way way way out of whack in my PD8 Ultra.

I'm more or less having much of the problems you described. I've experimented tons, and no matter what I change in the divx settings or the profile, I have the same file size issues. I actually went back to PD7, since things work fine with that. I'm hopeful a patch / update will be released to rectify this at some point.

The issue has been duplicated, by CyberLink. Looks like a codec conflict with a particular DivXPro build.

Hi people!

Any updates on this issue?
I've got PD Ultra 8.00.2508 - and the problem still here.

It's been reported and confirmed in August.
Build .2508 released on 20th of January...
Any luck?

thanks

Hi, has this problem been solved already?
I'm having the same issues right now. I've tried installing/uninstalling Divx Plus and PD8 but nothing worked so far.

Should I downgrade to PD7?

Thanks in advance...

solved it by downgrading divx pro from 8 to 7.
