Its just upt and kaput.

Plays neither dvd or bluray.

There is an error message when it opens saying "The system cannot find the path specified".

If I persist and press play with a bluray it will go to a black screen with text up in the corner saying "cyberlink powerdvd could not decode the current video because of content protection. Try playing the original copy of this video.", and if I persist with a dvd another error message will pop up saying "this type of disc is not supported."

A recent update came out but I checked that by reinstalling without any updates and still the same results.

Checked the rom drive for a firmware update but windows says it is up to date.

DVDs still play through windows media and vlc.

So what next?

Hello,

What's next is you should contact technical support:

https://membership.cyberlink.com/support/service/technical-support.do

They will help you fix it, as it sounds like you need to reinstall the program.
