I have a 8mm project I am working on and the audio is analog which is coming out of the right speaker. To make this stereo I am having to highlight the audio section by section and select Edit Audio which opens WaveEditor. I copy the right audio channel over to the left and save it to make it come out both speakers. I tried highlighting them all before opening WaveEditor but Edit Audio is greyed out if I do that.

Is there a way to make all the audio come out in stereo without having to open each section and edit it ?

You did not say what you are using to capture the Hi8 video with mono audio. If you are using a vhs adapter then connect that single audio cable from the camcorder to the white (left channel) instead of the red (right channel) connector. Most vhs adapters will process this as mono and the same audio will appear on both channels. You could buy and use a Y adapter for the audio too but it is not necessary if you connect that audio cable correctly for mono.

Oh I see. I am using a VHS type adapter (Diamond VC500) it has the Yellow - Video and Red and White Audio RCA connections. I was using the single red RCA connection. Interesting, never heard that before. My first time using this. So using the White connection will record audio on both channels ? I'll do that from now on then. Thanks !

****UPDATE**** Just tried that and it still is only audio in one side. Thanks anyway.
