delete the cache folder that holds these files.
C: \ Users \[user_name] \ AppData \ Roaming \ CyberLink \ PowerDirector \ 16.0 \Cache \ WaveForms folder and then delete all the temporary files.

Hmmm. I know you said you don't have the audio muted in PD, but did you accidently uncheck the audio box on your track your video is in? That is something that is easily overlooked.

See this post: https://forum.cyberlink.com/forum/posts/list/76766.page . If that is not it then right mouse click on the clip and select Restore to the original volume level. Also uncheck Mute clip if there is a checkmark on it.
