Update seems to have crashed render then won't complete anyway

I spent much time on a video. I started the render. Part of the way through it announced pd16 had stopped working but maybe if I downloaded the update it might work again. By the way, there should be degrees of auto save in this program. Many very basic and free progams, like Libre free word processing(and forums) have auto save. I downloaded a little file then when clicked it started downloading 268MB. I'm out of the country on mobile internet which is quite expensive and slow. It downloaded it all and got 87% of the way through then gave the error message ${IDS_CL_FOLDERLOCKEDINFOMSG_Enu}. Nothing I could do to get around it. Restarted the pc and the 268 mb are gone from the download folder. They just assume one can casually download such a big file I guess. To me it looked suspiciously like the update somehow caused the render to fail. My previous renders didn't fail. Here it fails and immediately I see the message to update and maybe a solution. Many regrettable aspects of this.

Hi,

Autosave settings are found in Preferences>Project. Both Save interval and Save location can be set.

CL uses an Application Manager to manage updates and downloads. the FAQ page is here: https://www.cyberlink.com/support/general-faq-list.do#c155

Unfortunately it is an issue where the downloads required are large and the user is in a remote locations or on mobile internet but there may be no way round it if the update is required.

I would recommend contacting CS with the issue of the failed installation, but I think you may have to try the whole update process again.

Cheers

I didn't know about that Autosave option. Thanks. To me those 268mb should remain until the update is completed. Absurd to have to do it over and over again if the update fails in terms of cost, time and bandwidth.
