Hi.
I want to import bitmap subtitles like idx/sub format. Each line of subtitle is like a PNG image(not text) and it's too good for me. Because I have problem with RTL fonts.
Is there any way to import these type of subtitles? Is there any plug-in for doing this?

Hi shinobi -

PDR only imports SRT & TXT type subtitles, as far as I can tell.

I have no experience with other formats of subtitles in PDR but, apparently, IDX/SUB can be converted to .SRT format. Many media players can read the IDX/SUB format.

I couldn't say have effective that is now whether it will work with your RTL fonts, but worth checking out.

Cheers - Tony

Hi Tony.
I have srt file and I converted it to idx/sub. Using idx/sub convertors change subtitle to srt again and my problem will back.
I want to use idx/sub because I don't want that program change anything(like font). So using these program for OCR subtitle is not suitable for me.
Maybe plugin can help me. But I don't know any plugin. In Vegas there is plugin as "Vegasaur" that is exactly one I want. But this plugin is unavailable an Powerdirector.

I found a way for using RTL text in PowerDirector. I explain it completely. Some of application doesn’t show right-to-left languages correctly. You need to use external applications.

*If you are Arabic use “Arabic writer” and watch this video:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vNeL1xjKJ7g&feature=youtu.be
*If you are Persian, install this program: “LeoMoon ParsiNegar”
*Of course you can use anyone you like.

A) For a single title it’s so easy. You write your text in external program and copy it, then paste in PowerDirector.

B) Big problem is when you want to import a SRT subtitle (e.g with 1000 lines). You cann’t use previous solution one by one. Do this steps:
1.Open SRT file with notepad. Open replace window(ctrl+H). Replace all “ --> ” with a uniqe numbers e.g. 909090. Be carful. That is “space+dash+dash+>+space”.

2.Select all (ctrl+A) and copy. Open “LeoMoon ParsiNegar” and Paste text and then click on convert button to copy new text.

3.Back to SRT file. Clear all previous text and paste new text.
4.Now you should do inverse of step1. Open Replace window(ctrl+H). Replace all “909090” with “ --> ”

5.save file and import it to PowerDirector. You see words shows correctly in timeline.

*You can use SubtitleEdit program for fixing other errors. For Example if symbols like ‘,’ doesn’t show correctly open Edit menu and select “Revese RTL start/end”.
*Change “ --> ” to “909090” is needed. Because when you copy normal text to external program, it change symbols like dash and ‘>’.
*I did that, but it is time-consuming and I hope Cyberlink Solve this problem in newer versions.
