I am using Power Director 16, but I had the same problem with Power Director 13. I would place a photo on my timeline and go add
a Magic Motion effect and the photo would become enlarged, cropping out or cutting off part of the photo is there a solutiom to using Magic Motion, but at the same time maintaing the photos original size? Thank You

You will have to use the "user defined" Magic Motion and use the keyframes to keep the image the same size while moving as you require.

Are you sure the PIP designer wouldn't suit your needs better

What you are asking is impossible. The way Magic Motion works is to zoom into the photo enough to be able to pan/move around the image giving the illusion of motion. If the "camera" doesn't zoom in a little there is no room for the motion to occur.

Hi toney32417 -

What The Shadowman & BarryTheCrab have posted is exactly right.

If you use any of the preset motion templates in Magic Motion, PDR will apply them to match your project AR (Aspect Ratio), by default. Any preset template can be modified using Motion Designer.

If your project is 16:9 & your photos are 16:9, that's the only way you'll get an uncropped image but, as Barry said, if you don't have cropping somewhere you'll get NO motion.

That's the point of motion slideshows - to provide the viewer with a focus on different parts of the photos & some movement on screen.

Most of the templates, for me, are a bit extreme in their motion so I rarely use them. I go straight to User Defined > Motion Designer.

Cheers - Tony
