unable to burn audio CD

When I try to burn an audio CD disk using Power2Go I receive the following error message:

CyberLink Power2Go could not burn the disk. Either the disc is damaged or the burning drive does not support this disk. Insert a different disc and try again"

I have tried several different blank CD-Rs, so it's not the disk.

I have a similar problem with Windows Media Player, so I think maybe it's that the optical drive & programs are not communicating properly.

I am using a brand-new HP Envy 750qd and Windows 10. I have spent many hours on the phone & online with HP, and they assure me that their drive is not defective.

Do you have any ideas?

Thank you

Skip P2Go and burn your audio CD directly with Windows 10. Here is how: http://www.dummies.com/computers/operating-systems/windows-10/how-to-burn-music-cds-in-windows-10/ . You can rip and burn. See this article. It works with win 10: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/15062/windows-burn-rip-cds .

This allows you to find out if the Ultra Slim-tray SuperMulti DVD burner is defective.
