This is a semi-update.
Fran and I hooked up. We didn't make any changes to the program itself (even though I had that file in hand, thank you
Dafydd)
We started out and, rather than trying to burn from a project file, we created an mpeg2.
We created our disc with this mpeg. She had had a moving menu (albeit a Power Director created one - Template 10 I believe) in her previous set up and we changed that out to a non movie menu (Template 6 I believe) at any rate, the project burned.
Fran has kindly agreed (when she has time) to go back and try to burn her project two ways
1. with the old menu and the mpeg2
2. with the new menu and the project file.
This will tell us if it was the project file (maybe too much for the program to process) or the menu that was creating the issue.
I will let you know what the outcome was.
Adding update.
Fran went back in and burned the project (or tried) two different ways. She went back to her original project and tried to create a disc with a change in menu only. Got the same error.
She took the produced mpeg and tried to create the disc with the old menu and it burned.
SO we can conclude that the project was the problem not the menu. It is very possible she had a piece of video in there that was a bit wonky. It produced fine but perhaps the program just couldn't create the disc from all of the pieces. Producing it into one mpeg fixed the problem for her.
So in this case, even though we received an error that normally indicates a chapter problem, that didn't seem to be the case. There were no chapters in this project other than the default. NOW to be honest, perhaps if we had switched out the file that
Dafydd suggested, perhaps we could have burned the project without having to produce, that I do not know. Perhaps
Dafydd does.
Thank you to
Fran for being willing to try a couple of other scenarios even after we fixed her problem, so that we had a bit more of an answer as to what the problem was.
