Hi
I'm transferring old videos tape to DVD .I'm using Hauppauge win TV 878/9 pci card and powerdirector7 .I captured all videos in mpeg 2.now I need to edit some videos. Do you think it ok to edit mpeg videos or should I capture videos in deferent format for better editting.and what is the best way or best setting, to make good quality video from tape to DVD because when I play the tape in vcr it look better on TV than Mpeg2 I captured. Thanks

You can try capturing in AVI, but the video size will be much larger. If you plan on going to DVD anyways you will ultimately have to get to MPEG2. Anytime you do a file conversion from one format to another you may have some loss in quality.

Please note that the DVD HQ encoder is not the best on the market. Q9300 2.5 GHz
