Hi,
Looking at purchase - using trial version 7

Problem my imported video is slow and behind audio when I play it in preview screen. Audio plays at correct speed and pointer moves across and stops, a short time later video finishes its slow motion play.

Any ideas? Is it my computer? How do I get my HD clips to play nice? I have used Adobe PE before and had to degrade video clips to edit them, was hoping I didn't have to do this with CPD.

Here are details of my set up.
Computer
Vista 64 SP1 \ AMD Phenom X4 9850 Quad Core Processor \ 8GB ram \ Radon HD4800

Video is from my Canon SX1 IS
'Super' says it is...

Crunch -

This will be of no help to you, because I have similar issues... and your set up would leave my PC gasping for breath!

Do the video clips play correctly outside PD7 - in a separate AVCHD player?

Sorry - a million dollar question with a $1 answer but someone will have some good advice for you.

Cheers -

Tony

This is the first post I have seen someone using level 5 profile. It is just possible that PD7 cannot cope with all that bitrate

PD8 needs to come sooner rather than later to deal with all the escalation in consumer product specs.

Crunch,
I've sent you a request for a sample of the video file and where to upload it. I think CyberLink will need the video to run a few tests.

many thanks

PD7 will not render anything above 14800 kbps. It is a real problem if you have good quality HD video.

I did find PD did have some stability after installing the ffdshow codec wrapper, you can download at:

Well had some issues with my login here. Seems my old profile got upset about me trying to change Email address... As new user my username now CrunchMDK

Have sent off clip and details to "Dafydd"

To answer some other questions.

The file plays fine straight from camera on kids machine which is windows 7 RC with WMP 12. I was quite surprised at that.
Also plays fine on my machine in 'Super' build36. So need PD to use whatever Super is using as player.

No good in Qtime and WMP 11.0.6001.7000 jerky.

Not yet tried ffdshow

If you want to play with the file you can get the 10 second clip (64MB). This is straight 10 second clip recorded on camera, it is not cut from longer clip. Will leave link up for a few days. www.momdadkids.com/bits

I had a chance to test your file using Window Media Player Classic which comes from downloading the K-Lite Codec Pack (uses ffdshow codecs). The video is a little choppy, but the sound is fine. Using my C2D 2GHz laptop my CPU usage maxed at 15%, but was usually lower than that. I also tried playing the clip on VLC player and the video does not come in at all. VLC uses its own codecs and not ffdshow.

Has anyone else tried my video file and had luck?
Currently via 'Super' I am downgrading the file to edit.

Been using two 'BluRay' setting options depending on where I am using video. 1280x720 and 1920x1088
