Just wondering,

a possible explanation of poor backward support could be having a small set of devs which are already dedicated mostly to new release of the product.

Therefore, any infos on ETA for a point or major new release of PD from Cyberlink? Maybe some fixes/enhancement/new features list (changelog)?
