Crash Creating AVCHD Blu ray Disks

Hi

I've spent months editing our wedding video and have managed to burn sucessfully to DVD. The video was created on a Sony CX11 HD camcorder so I'd now like to store it in HD quality.

When I try and burn to a folder in either Blu Ray or AVCHD format the program crashes after about 10% progress.

I'm using PD7 version 2726.

Please could someone kindly help as it seems as if one of the main selling features of this program doesnt work as promised...

Thanks in advance.

Nick

Hi Nicholas,

Have you tried to render to a file only (either Mpeg2 or Mpeg4 AVCHD) ?

If you can create a file you might have better luck using a new project to create a disc from the rendered single file.

Hi Pjc,

Thanks for taking the time to reply, sorry its taken me a while to reply again but i've been away on holiday!

I have now tried to render to MPEG4. I can successfully render most of the project if I split it into chunks. However there seems to be a certain point in the film that causes the program to crash, havent narrowed down the exact point yet. I am also not that happy with the quality compared to the original. The MPEG4 file seems to have interlacing lines in it. I have found some comments on this in the forum.

so it sounds as if I have a few options:
1. render as MPEG2 BD. (larger file but people say the quality is ok)
2. try resetting the speed of the clip as stated here: http://forum.cyberlink.com/forum/posts/list/30/5480.page
3. Wait until cyberlink releases a patch?

Do you have any new tips/comments on the above?

Looks as if I'm joining the list of unhappy customers then...

Thanks again

Nick
