Is it possible to remove Moire?

I filmed a talent show at my church and one young lady had a check striped shirt. It's producing some very horrible moire effects that draw the eye and distract the viewer. I really hate it.

Does PowerDirector 7 have any means to fix this?

Reducing the brightness & contrast alleviates the problem a bit.

It turns out that I had too much footage for the DVD I was burning. The quality of the video was automatically reduced in order to fit the movie onto the DVD. The lowered resolution is what caused the moire effect in that one scene with the check striped shirt. Guess I'm going to have to go dual layer for this one.

The question of MOIRE has bothered a couple of members of this forum, myself included. These two "disturbed" individuals have attempted to produce a response to Charles' question in audio visual form. This response is a collaboration between Cranston and me, under the banner of the Cranstony Brothers.

It is not a good advertisement for intercontinental collaborations, particularly with an ocean between us... that presented a challenge. Nor is it great video quality... but it was good fun to do.

We'd really like to thank Charles for being a good bloke and putting up with us making him the partial subject of the thing. Though we hope there are no legal consequences, we know that heads will roll in the last part of the video - yours might be one of them.

If you're not interested in getting an ANSWER to Charles' question - I think we have just the thing at

Not to mention that English/Australian language barrier.
(BTW, though I did contribute some bits to this video, the big kudos go to Tony for is his PD7 prowess in being able to assemble, coordinate, and edit this production. Good Job Tony!) Click here PDtoots for a collection of PowerDirector Tutorials and Tips

Impressive Charles! Love it! Such a talent.

Cranston - stop trying to absolve yourself from responsibility/blame. You're up to your neck in it buddy. There's no escape!
