Hi All,

This is my first posting, I have a copy of powerdirector and have been asked to create a end of year video for the kids daycare. Basic layout would be a menu system (16 kids) where you'd select the child then get a short video and then into a slide show with music (selected song per child), once finished you'd return to the top menu.
I have been looking through the powerdirector help information and have a couple of areas I'm still a little unclean:

1. I have observed that when you select the slideshow option with pictures it will sometime repeat pictures once it has shown everything once. If we take a 3-5sec display per picture we can work out an approx number but would prefer not to see any repeats. Would I need to therefore do a manual matchup of pics to time of song?

2. My earlier DVD's I have created have had chapters but not a return to top menu option. Is it possible to drop down this one level and then back ot the top menu again once finished?

I am not sure if power director or power producer may be the best option.

Appreciate any help / suggestions.

Regards Gareth

Hi Gareth,

I haven't used the menu/chapters very much, but I think I can help you with your first question.

- Put all the photos that you want to use in the timeline and click slideshow (not the hat that does the magic option).

- Select the style you want to use.

- Add music

- Click on the slideshow settings and select "fit music to photos". Your photos will only be used once and the music will fade out if the song isn't finished. Works real well.

I would also suggest that once you create this part of the slide show, produce it as an .avi or .mpeg2 file and save it. Then create another new project and import the file you created into the new project.

Hope that helps,
Cindy
