Thanks for the reply Nathan. My problem is with UHD Creator. The 8 bit edited material from PD14 is converted to UHD BR 10 bit in creator and the GTX960 will not provide 10 bit CUDA support .So I am told that the GTX1050 is the minimum card that can do CUDA 10 bit HEVC including HDR. A 90 min video takes close to 20 hrs to convert, this brings back memories when rendering the same video to HEVC in PD14 took 3 1/2 DAYS and was done while we were on a cruise!
So you feel that 4GB in a 1060 can handle 10 bit HEVC? I use a single 8 bit monitor or 4K TV but have trouble playing back from PC with VLC using the GTX960, while MPC64 and Potplayer are ok, but the PC takes a moment to make up its mind as to "what is this"?.
No problem playing my own created UHD 10 bit BR disc on a Samsung 8500, the disc has all the proper files just like a commercial 4K video. This may be all we will ever have to burn our own UHD BRs. The PQ is outstanding even with the conversion. And chapters every 5 minutes.
Amazon has some good deals on GPU cards so I will give this a try.
Thanks Nathan
