The standard instruction is to uninstall-re-install PD in case you have a corrupted installation causing you problems. (or a corrupted download)
I'd like to know exactly what version you are using.
Director's chair icon > Help > About, please give the PD version build numbers.
Have you explained the issue to Tech Support?

They are your first "port of call".
OK, I would suggest you try out a simple "test run" with PD and use the sample files provided in PD to Edit, Produce and create to disc. If successful start to look at the video files you are using to see if some have problems - I don't know what video files you are using or the selections you are making.
