Just started using PD16 after much time with PD14. Today I tried to Create Disc and was only able to select MP4,720 or SmartFit even though the video was produced in H.264,MP4,1920/1080.
How do I Create Disc in 1920?

I never used that function. For me, it shows all video sizes up to 1920x1080.
Please check, if your video exeeds the size of the selected disk. Maybe if the size of the video is too big, the sizes for "impossible" renderings are not shown.

P.s. Or have you selected 3D-Disk? If yes, try 2D-Disk.
Another idea: What is with your menu? Maybe the menu is in 720 and that determines the size of the video clip? So try an other menu

With PD14, I had the ability to select multiple quality settings with Create Disc including 1920.
PD 16 is the first time I have not been able to select multiple quality settings. My project is a 28 minute video (2154MB), shot in AVCHD. I am using 2D 4700MB discs so the file size is less than 1/2 the disc capacity. l don't know what you mean by "trying another menu". Can you clarify?
One correction to my original message, I only have MP2 available for my encoding format on the Create Disc settings.

  1. "try another menu" means, that if you want to create a disk, PowerDirector creates a menu for the disk. Maybe if the menu content is 720, then the whole clip is 720. I don't know.

  2. Your correction is more confusing. MP2 is an audio format, that has nothing to do with video. So have a close look.

The Video encoding format is MPEG 2 in the video encoring format with Create Disc. Sorry for the confusion. When Producing, I used the MPEG 4 format.

The Video encoding format is MPEG 2 in the video encoring format with Create Disc. No other options are available, along with only the HQ720 or Smart Fit for the quality setting. Sorry for the confusion. When Producing, I used the MPEG 4 format.

Oh my goodness.
The DVD Video format is a little bit old, and defined in MPEG2, 720x576 (PAL) or 720x480 (NTSC). Not more.
It can hold many audio tracks (e.g. for foreign languages) up to 5.1 and subtitles. Thats all.

If you want to have some more sophisticated, you need the follower: BlueRay.
It is defined up to 1920x1080. I don't know the other format specifications.

But as a Video-DVD you will never ever get a 1920x1080 MP4 on the disc.

Hatti

P.S. What else: You can produce your video without creating a disc. After it, you can burn the video on a DVD. This is NOT a valid Video DVD, but many BlueRay Player are able to play that disc.

They have not. Guaranteed. But I edited my last post: You can produce your video without creating a disc. After it, you can burn
the video on a DVD. This is NOT a valid Video DVD, but many BlueRay Player are able to play that disc.
My player can handle such disks.

Yes PD16 can create DVD / AVCHD
This disc can be played back in BluRay Player or PC.
This DVD can not be played on a DVD-video player.

Both PD14 and PD16 cannot create a standard dvd in the 1920 x 1080 resolution. You must choose AVCHD to to that as shown in PlaySound’s screenshot above.
