How to edit audio with PD16

I load my video - right click my video - edit audio - choose Wave Editor - make adjustments - how do I go back to PD with audio edits in place? I don't see a back button. When I manually close out of Wave Editor it asks me if I want to save my project - I choose yes - says it can not then goes back to PD without my audio edits in place. I'm new with this being my first project. Thanks, Don

Just close Wave Editor by (x) in the upper right corner.
Confirm, Yes

I'm trying to duplicate your issue, but have not done that yet.

If you click on the 'X' in the upper right corner of the WaveEditor screen, do you get a popup box that reads, "You have not save the changes made to the current audio track. Do you want to save the changes now?"

When I click the "X" it does ask to save; I click yes but it says it can not save. Am I supposed to connect WaveEditor to Powerdirector somehow? Am I supposed to go into PD preferences somewhere and choose WaveEditor as my audio editor? I don't see where to do that. Thanks, Don

No, connection is not necessary. There is something wrong. It should do, as PlaySound and Jim said.
What does the error message say? Do you have enough space on C Do you work on an external drive? If yes - uhhhhhh.

New project - video that has audio in timeline
Video appears in two rows, video on top audio below however audio section says "video" as well as video portion above if that matters.
Right-click video - edit audio - WaveEditor
WaveEditor opens with audio
Edit audio (just applied EQ)
Click on "X"
Asked if I want to save changes.
I click yes.
Error message says "CyberLink WaveEditor cannot save the file".
Click ok.
Back to PowerDirector, audio changes not present.

I have plenty of hard drive space and not using an external drive.

Thanks so much for your reply. Don

My suggestion uses another video.

Can be sample, Kite Surfing.wmv

If you still have the error, reinstall PD16, maybe you can fix it. AMD-FX 8350 / 8GB DDR3

If you choose WaveEditor from PowerDirector, the .wav file is saved in the folder, that is pointed to with:

Preferences - File - Export Folder

If you choose WaveEditor, is the .wav file there? Enough space? Change that folder in the preferences to an other folder with enough space on a local harddrive.
And (no kidding): did you reboot your computer?

Rebooted, plenty of space.
Used kite surfing sample.
Export folder for both PD and WE are the same.
Same result as other file (.MOV).
Imported kite surfing file - edit audio - WaveEditor - edit - X - save changes, yes - WE can not save changes - returns to PD without edits

Cheers
