I have yet to find a working solution on the internet.
I have PD16, Dell XPS15 laptop with i7, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 with updated drivers.
I can use the NVidia control pannel and go to program settings and select Cyberlink PD for the program, but on 2. I cannot select anything other than Integrated graphics. It won't let me use the down arrow to select anything. I can select other programs and then 2. I can pick the NVIDIA processor. Heck, I can even select Firefox from the drop down, but none of the PD programs like PD16, PD screen recorder.

I have also disabled the internal graphics to the system would force use of the NVIDIA, but then it uses the CPU insted of the Intel GPU or NVIDIA.

In PD16 under settings, I have it set to use hardware accelleration also.

However, under the NVIDIA settings, it says what is using the GPU and it never shows PD16. Under task manager, when I use PD16, it shows all the load on the Intel internal GPU, or if Intel GPU is disabled, it shows the load under the CPU. Nothing shows it under the NVIDIA>

You may not be able to enable hardware acceleration in PD for the Nvidia video card.

That said, there are a few things to check.

  1. Preferences > Hardware Acceleration > Make sure you have everything in here checked. Enable OpenCL is the most important one.

  2. Preferences > Produce, Check mark all items.

  3. In the Produce Module (Produce at top of PD interface) Select Fast Video rendering Technology, SVRT or Hardware video Encoder. Whichever is enabled.

  4. Intelligent SVRT, can find a profile that works sometime.

Not all videos can use Hardware Acceleration. Carl312: Windows 10 64-bit 8 GB RAM,AMD Phenom II X4 965 3.4 GHz,ATI Radeon HD 5770 1GB,240GB SSD,two 1TB HDs.

My video card is AMD R9 270 this had hardware acceleration until July 2017, drivers update (every month has new) I can no longer use have HA.
If I enable HA, I have green screen for fullhd videos added on the timeline. If I'm going to produce any video with HA enabled, lock PD16.
I was thinking that my board was already obsolete.
Now I see complaints about nvidia, it seems the same case, "new drivers"
I'm assuming the problem is with PD16, other applications works fine, including the image is better for viewing in general.
Unfortunately without HA, I do not have in rendering, about 15% faster, also the CPU relief that works below 50%.

There are plenty of complaints on HW accelleration on PD16, but no fixes that I can find.

Thank you for the tips, but none helped. Seems like PD16 doesn't like new hardware/drivers.
