I get the following message

Error: Your Product Key is not recognized, is out of date or has already been activated. Please try again. If you still encounter difficulties, please contact customer service.

Any ideas on why this might be happening?

Maybe you made a mistake writing the Product Key ...

If not, just follow the recommendation: Contact the customer service! The customer service is very cooperative (at least here in Germany). Grüße aus dem Ahrtal!
