One way to check how many cores are being used by a particular program is to check the CPU affinity.
1. Load PD
2. Press ctrl + alt + del
3. Windows Task Manager should open up. Click on the tab called Processes
4. Find PDR.exe in the list of running applications.
5. Click on PDR.exe and right click. Click the prompt for set affinity.
6. Check to see how many CPUs are being used. For a dual core both CPU 0 and CPU 1 should be checked.
You should not have to change anything from the default settings.
