Import no longer filters out existing photos (PhotoDirector 9)

I don't know if anyone else has noticed this, but the option to not import existing photos seems to be gone from the import dialog.

I wanted to add some photos to an established project. Because there were too many, looking for duplicates myself was not an option.

I remembered that there had been the option to ignore existing photos and the help files mention it, but I can't see it.

Maybe it has been moved somewhere else!

Hello Philwild,

I was alarmed, at first, when I noticed this after PhD9's release.

What has happened is the checkbox has been removed from the interface & NOT importing duplicates has become the default.

So, if one imports 99 of the photos in a folder containing 100 then later tries to import the whole folder (of 100 photos), only the one missing photo will be imported.

PhD9 users do not end up with multiple "copies" of the same photos in the library.

Pix

Thanks for your help.

This was a bit scary for us "long-term" users!

Yes, I can see it does this "out of the box".

I suppose they need to change the user guide and I think it would be helpful if there was a message telling you how many were being imported and why.

Thnks

Phil
