Dear all,

I can not activate power dvd 9.

I have contacted the help desk several times, but they could not solve the Issue.

They have told me to Start Windows in Selective Startup mode, do the following steps:

a. Click on Start.
b. Click on Run.
c. Type “msconfig” and click on OK.
d. A System Configuration Utility window will come up.
e. On General tab, select Selective Startup.
f. Uncheck "Load Startup Items".
g. Click on Apply.
h. Click on OK.
i. Click on Close.
j. It will ask you to restart your computer. Click on "Restart".

II. Install Microsoft cleanup tool and clean PowerDVD installation information
Install Microsoft cleanup tool and execute from "Start\all programs\Windows Installer Cleanup" If you can see PowerDVD in product list, select PowerDVD [9.00] and click "Remove" button to clean up PowerDVD.

And to remove PowerDVD folder and clean up PowerDVD Registry

I have cleaned registry and re installed the powed dvd several times but it always say that the activation key is incorrect.
I use Windows XP sp3 and Kaspersky Antivirus software.
Any advice?

Marco,

I have been going through the same thing with tech support these past few days. We have had no luck either. I will let you know if we solve anything, I would greatly appreciate it if you would do the same.

same here with Vista. on their support page they also recommend trying to modify the host file but don't give very good instructions on how to do so. Support seems to be prompt and polite but it doesn't do much good if the ($100)product won't work
