Hi MONTIEL -

For a start, I don't have a GH5 but I did download some footage from 4K Shooters. Unfortunately, it was taken before the firmware update so it doesn't address your stated issue. I have no 400Mbps footage to test.

I did notice that some of the sample clips displayed with audio only in PDR16. Those particular clips were encoded using AVC High 4:2:2@L5.1. Clips recorded with AVC High@5.2 were fine, including all the VLogL clips encoded using AVC High@L5.

Two MediaInfo reports are attached - one was fine in PDR16, the other wasn't.

Check out the media info for your clips that don't work & post one here. There may be a pattern.

Cheers - Tony

Hi Tony

In reality, the samples displayed with audio only and blanck Screen in my case.

How can i do to find and send you the media info? I don't know how to do.

If you give me a dress mail i can send you a sample be we transfer

Does it means i have to wait for a new firmware before using PDR16?

Thancks for answering

Hi again -

You can get MediaInfo here. It just a simple tool that provides a report on media properties.

Would you be able to shoot a shot clip (just a few seconds) and upload it for testing?

Cheers - Tony

It probably is a case of the software catching up to the camera manufacturers.

The Panasonic GH5, with the 2.0 firmware, can record 422 10-bit ALL Intra 400Mbps in 4K. Users of other software have had similar issues (some of which have now been resolved)... DaVinci Resolve, Premiere Pro, After Effects...

Here's some information that's interesting, though it won't help you solve this problem.

I upgraded my video codecs with the latest K Lite codec pack. I can now read and cut a piece of 422 10 bit 4k with Power Director 16. I need to shoot some more clips to test further but this would be very cool...... this first piece was done at 24 FPS

Put 7 minutes of cinema 4k 24fps on the time line. Made a couple of cuts and added a few basic transitions. Produced to Uhd 4k 24p.
No 24p option in H265, 30p only for cinema 4k. Xavc S has only Uhd 4k in 24,30, and 60 FPS.

My system struggles past a few minutes of 4k so I usualy drop down to hd for Long edits of 15 minutes or longer. Will be looking to test multicam edits in All-Intra 4k file types of 45 minutes. I could actualy be a 4k editor. If power director would upgrade the H265 I frame out it would be heavan in Power director......

You can easily add a custom produce profile with the desired frame rate. Search the forum for more info.

You may also want to turn on shadow files to work with such high bitrate clips, or convert them to MagicYUV if you have a big SSD with lots of free space.

Hi,

I shoot with GH5S and GH5 - does PowerDirector or ColorDirector support 10-bit color (4:2:2)? Does it support the ALL-I for imported files?

I use PowerDirector 15 and it seems not at all.

I would like to shoot with the ALL-I codec (4K/4:2:2/50fps/400Mbps) but need to be able to color grade. I always edit with proxies using ffmpeg but would like to import highest possible quality and render at highest possible quality.

Thanks!

To my knowledge, no Cyberlink editing product supports either. I would guess that 4:2:2 is more likely to become available in a future version, maybe even as soon as PD18/CD8, but that's pure speculation on my part.

It's definitely too late to influence any features in PD18/CD8, since they're going to be released ina a month or two, but it wouldn't hurt to let Cyberlink know that you want both of these features.

In both PD and CD, use Rate Us & Provide Suggestions... under the File menu.

Thank you Gentlemen

I was wrong stating the video driver allowed access to 10 bit video in Power director.

I can veiw the files from my gh5 outside the program now. Headed to DaVinci Resolve Studio as soon as
I can save for a BMPCC 4k and get the license included.
