When playing UHD 4K BluRays Powedvd always sets refresh rate at 60 (59,94) Hz

refresh date cannot cannot be changed (auto or manually) to the right refresh rate (23.9

Even if desktop is set at 23,98 (before starting UHD playback (with PDVD) via intel graphics driver) pdvd switches to 59,94 (after pdvd stops / exit/ exclusive playback mode, desktop is still at 23,9

Answering Yes or No to pdvd popup for Auto Refresh Rate doesn't make any difference

Problem doesn't appear on normal / 2K blurays - only on UHD 4K bluray

Problem mentioned also elsewhere on the net

PDVD17 it's really bad in autoswtiching to 24p, On my configuration even at normal Blu-Ray's cannot chagne to 24p when is connected through my AVR. On Total Media Theatre 6 everything work fine.

Cyberlink should concentrate on this much more and fix this, because for me player without corectly autoswtiching TV to 24p mode it's total useless crap software.

I read elsewhere that customer support replied to another user the following

"Regarding your concern, I would like to inform you that by further checking with engineer and product team, currently, PowerDVD 17 supports the auto screen refresh rate change for movie disc playback only. And, the auto adjustment is not supported in HDR playback if you played the Ultra HD Blu-ray movie disc. The HDR playback will set the refresh rate as 60Hz fixedly."

If thats right, Cyberlink is aware of the issue

I hope that they are serious enough to understand that playing a 24p movie at 60p is not the proper way and they should fix this asap!

Auto refresh rate switching is not necessary - They can simply let the user select proper refresh rate via intel graphics driver and pdvd simply not to change this at 60p.

Auto refresh rate switching is necessary, same as in traditional stationary Blu-Ray players

Personally, I would be ok if pdvd wouldn't mess up with the refresh rate at all (so I would set it manually and be sure that's OK)

But, for the time being, let's just hope that Cyberlink fixes this in order pdvd not to force the wrong refresh rate (59.94 Hz) instead of the right one (23.98 Hz) when playing a UHD BD
