Hi I have PowerDVD Live / 17 and it created a subfolder in My Documents folder:

C:\Users\%username%\OneDrive\Documents\CyberLink\PowerDVD16

How can I move this folder to another location?

Thanks and see you soon,

David

Hi Grendizer,

I would suggest you to reinstall PowerDVD without keeping the personal settings.

Hicham

Why? That would help. since the question is pretty simple at its face value.

Use Windows to move it BUT remember where you put it. Use "My Computer" to navigate to that folder. I have saved nothign in that folder so I don;t have an issue with it. .

This depends, if you want to move the entire Documents folder from OnDrive to a local folder on your hard drive, you would right click on the Documents folder, click on location, then enter the location of where you would rather have it. Usually, moving your Documents, Pictures, Download, etc folders is best to do after a fresh install of Windows because any program that has files in that directory will have trouble finding them once you move it. If you moved it after a fresh Windows install, then whenever you install a new application, you can change the default location to the new location. From then on, the application will know where all the files are located.

Since Cyberlink is already installed, I agree with Cyberlink-Hicham. A new Cyberlink install would be best and specify the folder where you want it installed when it asks you where you want it installed. Right now, it's automatically being synced with OneDrive. If you install it elsewhere, it won't sync with OneDrive anymore, but it will probably run much faster too.

Hello all,

Thanks for your answers.

I checked what a user said in this thread (but strangely I can't find his post now) said and I went in powerDVD 17 > pc mode > settings > cyberlink cloud > and here I have no path in c:\users\%username%\onedrive\documents.

Stevek, I don't think just moving the folder will help, as PowerDVD will re-create the same folder on the next startup.

Keep in mind this Cyberlink folder is not my installation folder, it is a preferences folder. Its content is a folder named "PowerDVD17" and this ones contains: Movie, VideoBookmarks and Default.PLS

I don't want to move the Onedrive\Document folder and I want to keep using this folder as my default documents folder.

Cyberlink-Hicham and rolldog, are you saying I can choose the location of this preference folder ONLY at the time I install PowerDVD??

Thanks

David

Hi Grendizer,

The content you've posted is normaly saved under "My Documents" (the default folder to save your ducuments). In your case this folder is under OneDrive.

I'd suggest to sign off OneDrive in order to stop the synchronization..etc then to reinstall PDVD without keeping the personal settings. After that check under C:\Documents\CyberLink. There you should find "PowerDVD17".

If everything gos well, turn on you Onedrive.
Let us know your result.

Greetings

Hello

I think you completely misunderstood my question. OneDrive is not an issue.

I don't want the Cyberlink foldert to be in C:\users\%username%\Documents\CyberLink

I don't want the Cyberlink foldert to be in C:\users\%username%\Onedrive\Documents\CyberLink

Application options should not pollute the personal documents folder. They should remain in folders such as C:\users\%username%\AppData\Roamning or another folder of my choice.

This is what I'm trying to do.

Thanks

David

Hi David,

The folder C:\users\%username%\Documents\CyberLink is where the video's bookmarks are saved.
It's per default stored under Documents and it is not adjustable.

If you are running one of the later version of windows you can create a soft link using mklink:

cd C:\users\%username%\Documents\
ren Cyberlink Cyberlink.old
mklink /d Cyberlink "C:\new_location\new_cyberlink"

The mklink /d requires that you run in an admin shell.
