Hello Everyone,

This maybe an exceptionally lame question and there is probably an answer already but I must ask after scouring through the FAQ I amazingly still come up with zero as an answer.

I have an ongoing project that I have been trying to save for the last two days. I have not produced the project as I am not ready.

However when I save the project I save it to my video folder and name it appropriately. I can only save it as a Power Director file there is no other option.

When I log out of PD and go back later and try to find my saved file I can only find it under the " Look in all Files" I can then find it. When I try to import I am then told that the format is unknown. I have lost so much work already because of my stupidity possibly.

Can I get some sound advice please? How do I save an on going project in power director 15 that is recognizable to the software often I "Save As" in the software system

Thank you in advance. Thank you for the support

Autotraderimports:

I am guessing that you might be confusing saving project files and producing video files.

When you "Save" a file, it is saved as a .pds file. That is a text file which just contains all of the details about your project: media, media locations, edits, etc. The .pds files cannot be imported; they can only be opened.

If you want a file that you can import to the media room, then you must produce the file.

There are lots of excellent tutorials (thanks ynotfish and colleagues) on the PDToots channel.

I recommend that you start with some of the tutorials. There is a wealth of information there.

I hope this helps. Have a great day.
