PowerDVD 9 Ultra stalls during BluRay playback

During BluRay disk playback Power DVD 9 Ultra player suddenly stalls for several minutes without any video or audio ( just still picture) and then resumes. It happens several times during one movie playback.
What could be the problem?

CPU:2 Core Intel at 1.8 GHz
GPU:ATI Radeon HD 4670 512Mb
RAM: 4Gb
BluRay Drive: 8x Pioneer
OS: Vista SP1

I am having a similar problem; I'm running Power DVD9 Ultra on a twin quad core machine with ATI Radeon 3450 graphics hardware. The application will load a disc, but playback stalls and the app freezes a few seconds into playback. This happens with both BluRay and convetional DVDs.

CPU: 2 x Intel Xeon E5420
GPU: 2 x ATI Radeon HD3450
RAM: 3Gb
OS: XP Pro
BluRay drive: LG
