Scanning Digital TV Channels

In PD7, when I try to scan in Digital TV channels in the capture mode, the program locks up and has to be closed down. I'm using Vista64bit with a Hauppage Tuner. CyberLink tech support has worn me out as they don't seem to be able to understand my problem after at least 5 emails explaining the problem. Any help by another affected user or someone who understands english would be greatly appreciated.

Hank
Capture the TV signals and save without PD7. Doing it on PD7 stresses CPU
causing buffer overflow.
Also we dont know your system specs.
If you are running Vista assuming you have quad core CPU, at least 4 GB of DDR3 RAM and a fast HDD then you MAY not have the problem.
PC specs :
OS Windows 10.0 Pro
MB - AS rock Z77 extreme 11
Intel 3770K @ 4.0 Ghz OC
Gskill 32 GB RAM 1800 Mhz
6 TB HDD, SSD bootable
nVidia ASUS GTX 660 Ti
BenQ 22" LCD monitor 1920x1080

Hi Babdi,
Here in Australia, capturing DTV with PD7 merely saves the data stream with negligible CPU use at all.
I suspect Hank is having trouble with scanning for channels not capturing from them.

Correct...the problem occurs when I simply scan digital channels, much like you would if you were trying to program a new TV set with available channels in your area. As soon as I make the attempt to scan the channels, the program locks up. Specs: Vista64, Hauppage WinTV HVR-1800 capture card/tuner, Intel Quad Core Q6700, 4GB...VERY frustrating. Any help is greatly appreciated.
