Hi there, am new to this topic and am in the process of converting all my VHS tapes to DVD. Most VHS are either 3 or 4 hours long, is there a way of compressing them to fit a single DVD. At the moment I can only record one hour at a time to DVD format.

Reduce the video quality.
You need the software to convert these VHS tapes to MPEG-2 format. (Or others).
Then use PowerDirector or other video editing softwares to create the DVD
