Music feedback in Disc Menu Preview

Using the extract audio feature to make music snippets for the disc menu in PD6. Have successfully used this feature numerous times without a problem. Made a 20 second audio clip that sounds "clean" when played alone and when accessed using the arrow button on the Background Music menu line. However, when played through the menu Preview tab, the music has a high-pitched ringing feedback that plays for the duration of the entire clip. This feedback also is in the video file burned to the HD. I have tried two separate extracted clips from two different episodes of the same series with the same results: clean everywhere except in the preview and the final burn. If I insert background music extracted from a totally different source (not the same video series), the feedback is not present in any venue.

Any ideas? How can an extracted audio clip sound clean with the music preview button (the background music arrow button), but have a nasty feedback with the video/menu preview and burn? Is there a way to apply a squelch to the feedback?

Jim
