I just downloaded the latest drivers for my Nvidia 9600 GT which has CUDA enabled to try out the GPU functionality of the PD7 patch.

The rendering time of a AVCHD clip was halved.

I am very impressed - so thought I would post

What are the other specs of your PC?
I found CUDA to be uninspiring so far.

I recently updated my onboard intel graphics to a 9500 Gt. I also found that the rendering time was cut in half (from a Q9300), but the quality is not very good.

Maybe when cyberlink fixes the AVCHD rendering the quality will improve with CUDA as well. Q9300 2.5 GHz
4 GB Ram
Nvidia 9800 GT

I haven't enabled CUDA since the last patch. I notice now it has a note saying it will be disabled if your graphics card is not up to the task.

I suspect my combination of Q9550 and GT 8600 means no gain in GPU rendering and it is not enabled during rendering (check box is greyed out).

Anyway it is so limited to which effects it is used there is no real point for me.

Have you downloaded the latest forceware drivers, as the checkbox should be enabled amd the 8600 does have CUDA ability.

Also, look here, which I know is marketspeak but it does show the results of some tests.

Have done that thanks David. I was using CUDA before the last patch but didn't bother as it actually slowed my rendering down.

I have to make amendments. I did not have the latest drivers after all and now I can utilize GPU rendering.

For a 2 min clip: to default 1080i

No GPU = 4min 50sec
GPU enabled = 3min 40sec
