You forgot one important detail -- budget? What I've dome recently is to look at on line builders for gaming machines and thake a hint from them I used "CPU Solutions" to get some ideas. .

However, I live in Brazil and in the second semester, I will go to the United States and I intend to buy the parts so I can build an updated PC.
It is difficult to bring something already assembled, as the value would be around $ 1,300 ~ $ 1,500 and the quota (limit of purchases customs) is $ 500 per person.
Thus, by bringing the parts to be assembled, I can better distribute the values according to the quota of each one of the family.

Have you thought about buying a complete computer in the USA or maybe buying the parts to assemble one in the USA.

There are many electronic companies that sell either whole computer or parts to bult on.

For about $1500 USD, you can have a really fast computer for editing Video.

I do not know the currency exchange for your county and the USA, but I would almost bet the value in the USA is higher.

Amazon.com (USA) and Newegg.com (USA) are two of the better places to buy computers and parts. There are many other companies that sell computers and parts in the USA

Most of the name brand components sold in the U.S. are actually manufactured overseas. Do you think that you could buy the same components in Brazil for an equivalent or cheaper price? Perhaps? Maybe?

If a purchased component is damaged or defective you have to go through customs to get it replaced. You need a tech savy person if the pc doesn't boot up. The windows must be a Portuguese instead of an English version.

Due to taxes, prices in Brazil are ~100% higher than US prices.

I will buy in Brazil the items that present the best cost-benefit ratio and in USA the items that truly present the best price.

Thanks for the education about the taxes on imported items sold in Brazil. You still have to be careful in the U.S. I once purchased a flexible keyboard at a computer expo in a foreign country. The vendor gave me the demo one that everyone twisted and abused. I was too nice to ask for one of the unopen boxed ones because I don't speak the language. It was broken and did not work once I tried it in the U.S. Can’t return it as that is not sold in the U.S. Other pc accessories from other vendors did work properly.

I think that you will do well buying in the U.S. Look for a Fry's or Microcenter and speak up if you are uncomfortable with the salesman.

If you can use use parts out of your old computer it will help lowing your cost... (monitors sound cards hard drives etc) but most off the shelf computers now are good enough. So you don't need the most latest and greatest keeping up with the Jones computers...

A search of 4k monitors in this forum produced mixed dated results. For the best results you need to go outside this forum and check the review on those two monitors. Newer pricier 4k monitors can have hdr for example and other newer features. See this article: https://www.omnicoreagency.com/best-4k-monitors/ . The reviewer seem to forget about 21:9, hdr, etc. People, users can give opinions but you have to make up your mind.

I agree with your assessment that you need be buy new components instead of stripping anything off your 2009 vintage pc.

I have ditched Intel and moved over to Ryzen. My current, and a lot cheaper but faster setup:

16GB DDR4 2400Mhz single stick memory (got 4 slots for upgrade)

128G Kingstone SSD + 1T Seagate HDD



At the moment my 1080p25 60Mbps rendering is at 1/2 (so 2minutes of video renders out in less than a minute) if i lower the bitrate to standard 15Mbps it is 1/3



I am thinking on a GPU upgrade like a 1050...and possibly another SSD for editing cache as the normal HDD is a bit slow on that
