Hello.

I've been using PD15 since it came out with no problems. But today I tried to launch it and got a message that "RichVideo not installed, click OK to install or Cancel to close PowerDirector."

I tried both options many times with no luck.

I also tried restarting and hard re-boots. Both did nothing.

I'm running Windows 7 Pro and have never had this problem before. I have not installed anything new since the last time I used PD the day before yesterday.

I searched for an answer to this but haven't found anything.

Please help!

Thanks in advance,

Paul

Get rid of any and all Registry Cleaners -- if you are using one. They usually do more harm than good. .

Thanks for the quick response! I did what you said but it made no difference.

Since then I tried many other "solutions" I found on the web. Nothing helped.

Sent a message to CyberLink support and waiting to hear back.

Thanks again!

Thanks for the quick response! I did uninstall my registry cleaner and rebooted, but it made no difference. Since then I tried many other "solutions" I found on the web, rebooting after each one. Nothing helped. Sent a message to CyberLink support and waiting to hear back.

Thanks again!

The registry cleaner screwed up all the programs that are giving you the problem. You will have to reinstall the programs with your antivirus OFF.

Do not einstall or run the registry cleaner - ever ! .

Thanks for reponding

I have not had problems with any of my other programs. Plus the registry cleaner had been running since before I bought PD15. PD14 also ran quite well. This version is the only program not working. It just quit loading for no known reason :/

But I uninstalled the registry cleaner anyway. Rebooted, no change. I also tried system restore; also no change.

Yesterday, CyberLink responded to my support ticket. They sent me a file to run that was supposed to fix it. It did not!

I'm running out of hair to pull!

Thanks again, Steve!

Paul

P.S. Should I do an uninstall before reinstalling? I am not sure I can find my registration information :/

Update: I finally fixed the problem. I just reinstalled PD over the original installation. All working as usual now

Thanks PepsiMan and Stevek for helping!
