Audio off

Hello all,

Following problem:

working on a project with many effects and because of possible lagging, I decided to render the entire video cut rushes to one piece and add the final effects where necessary on the rendered track. That works smooth. No lagging or other editing problems. In particular where I need to do partial rotoscoping effects. The rendered video has no audio and I would like to add the audio on another track afterward.

The problem is that I can not turn the audio on and the loudspeaker icon is off even after I have put the preview mode to "real time preview" or after I start a new project on a clean timeline and just try the audio (same problem). When I sent the audio track to Wave editor the track plays normally and idem for Audio Director 5. When imported again into PD 14 no way to get the audio on.

I downloaded Winamp and DFX (both audio enhancers) to this desktop earlier this week to get a better boost of the sound card. Could there be a conflict with PD14 and has someone had problems in the same matter?

If I can't get this to work (maybe I miss something), I will have to "cut loose" with the audio enhancers and test if they are not creating a conflict.

Any help/suggestions most welcome.

Thanks.

Since you say still no audio when "real time preview" is used, more than likely you just have audio muted. The muted case will also just be a grey line through the speaker icon. If so, simply click the speaker icon, at the bottom of the vertical volume adjust, click that speak icon to unmute.

Hello Jeff,

You are right. But the audio enhancer DFX muted the sound automatically. I have deleted the soft and replaced by Winamp and that works fine now.

Thanks.
