Saving a project

I'm using PD 13 on a laptop/tablet I purchased for my vacation. I'm currently in Laos and will be returning to the U.S. Feb 14.

I'm hoping this is not found in any other posts. I did a search and didn't see anything addressing my particular question.

Question: Once you give a project a name and save it, is there anyway to edit that name and use a new one?

I just completed a project and saved it with a name I would remember what it was about. However, after about 15 minutes, I came up with a much better name and would like to use that name instead of the name already saved.

I have done this before and to change the name I opened the project, saved it with a new name. Then I had to go to my files and find the original project and delete it. Seems a waste of time.

As always, I'm sure someone will show me something I'm not aware of. Appreciate any guidance.

There's no way to edit the name within PD except by the method you described. Other than that the only way is to go to the folder where the project file is located and change it with Windows Explorer. Regards,
Mike

Thanks Fenman. Hadn't thought of your 2nd suggestion. Only one problem with that is if I want to open it in PD, it won't be shown in the projects unless I'm wrong on that.

Once again, I'm the recipient of great advice in these forums.

Appreciate your input. Have a great one. Jack

Hi boonsong,

Once you've renamed it in Windows Explorer you will get an error message if you try to access it via 'Recent Files' so you need to use 'Open Project' and browse for it. Once you've performed a Save it will obviously appear in Recent Files under the new name. Regards,
Mike
