In a PDR14 thread, Jeff (JL_JL) raised the performance comparison between PDR14 & CDR4 when rendering colour corrected clips from UHD to HD - http://forum.cyberlink.com/forum/posts/list/48352.page

I've repeated similar comparison tests with PDR15 & CDR5.

Procedure:

  1. In PDR15 - 1 minute 3840x2160 source video colour corrected via CDR5

  2. Produced in PDR15 to 3840x2160 & 1920x1080 - encoding time noted

  3. Repeat procedure for 1920x1080 source video - rendered only to 1080p - encoding time noted

  4. In CDR5 - same source videos colour corrected

  5. Produced in CDR5 to same spec videos as above.

By comparisong with PDR14 & CDR4, encoding times are better overall, but encode time ratios between PDR & CDR are similar. Previous test - http://forum.cyberlink.com/forum/posts/list/48352.page#253129

Cheers - Tony
