Two days without a response from Nvidia card users. I believe that tech support would always tell individuals to update to the latest driver unless there is a known issue. I am not a real gamer but always update to the latest amd drivers or now beta one which seem to cause no unknown issues.

I believe that you should contact cyberlink support and raise the issue that you suspect PD14 is not displaying the 4k video fast enough without shadow files. Let them choose a driver for GTX 960 users. Let us know which driver they recommend.
