Transfer Titles from PD9 on old PC to PD14 on new PC
[Post New]
I transferred all my Video files from the old Vista PC to my new W10 PC and have made a compilation of several videos and stills from my son's sporting activities for his birthday on Sunday.
In order to identify each clip/still I would like to have a title to explain the clip and when it was taken but that means making many new tiltles which is time consuming.
Some of those videos already had titles made for the Timeline.
Is there an easy way to copy all the existing titles from the earlier version of PD9 on the old PC and transfer them to the new PC please? Phil

When you say that you have transferred your video files, do you mean the PowerDirector PDS files or the original format eg MP4?

If you have the PDS files that you created originally I would have thought you could load them on a new track in PD14 and do some cutting and pasting.

If that doesn't work, on your old machine, you could load the video with the titles you require. Split the titles from the rest of the video, copy the title, and then start a new project and then paste the title in. Then produce the result to say, MP4 and load it on your new machine in the rquired place.

It's probably quicker to create new ones, but it depends how complicated your title are

Hi Phil -

Another possibility is to go to C:\Users\UserName\Documents\CyberLink\PowerDirector\9.0\MyTitles on your old Vista PC. Copy that folder, including all the sub-folders named "Title_xxx", to a USB device...

... then transfer that folder to your new PC and paste the sub-folders in C:\Users\UserName\Documents\CyberLink\PowerDirector\14.0\MyTitles

Once transferred, your old custom titles will now be available in PDR14.

You may run into some naming issues (duplicates) if you've already made custom titles in PDR14. Another thing to be aware of is fonts, if you don't have the same font set on both PCs.

Cheers - Tony
