Hello, so I was just gonna start putting together a video for my English class, but PowerDirector 13's audio isn't working in it's entirely. I've been working on the application for around a year so I know the ins and outs- the preview screen is not muted, it's not in non-realtime preview, all files I've tried (.wmv, .mov, .avi) have just fine audio outside of the editor so the files aren't muted themselves, and obviously my computer isn't muted because videos on YouTube still have audio, and I've restarted my laptop on and off a few times and it's done nothing. When I open PowerDirector it's already muted, but I disable the mute option and it still doesn't work. I checked out task manager because I mess around with the priority a lot so the playback is less laggy, but the priority is just normal and not on real time. I was using it just a few days ago and it ran pretty well, it's laggy but it's always like that. Please help me out, the project's due tomorrow and it's a group project so I don't wanna let down my mates. I'll provide any extra information if needed.

Did you move the volume control slider all the way to the top after you unmuted it? You can do the same thing by Right clicking on the speaker icon on the taskbar.

Let us know if this fixes your problem.

Have you tried using different tracks, and I cant see anywhere in your post that you confirm that there is a tick mark in the audio track 1 enable/disable box - is there?

Apart from the blue audio line in the track, do you also see a white one with a handle at each end?

I hope this helps give you a clue

To pick up where this thread left off (because I am having the same problem)...

If mute/unmute is the little speaker icon below the preview windo, then yes, it was mute when I opened the program. I Unmuted it and made sure the volume level was high.

There is checkmark in the audio box for the track.

The audio track on the clip is showing waves.

There is a littel white handle at either end of the audio track.

The audio adjustment window shows +0.0, which is default volume level of a clip.

The one difference/change that has ccurred is that I pluged in my earphones a couple of days ago. Sincethen the sound has not been working without the earphnes. IT still works with the earphones.

Any cules? Hints? Ideas? What am I missing here? Zorikh

Crazy thing. I closed up y laptom (on which I had been editing), carried it accross town, opened it up a few hours later and presto! The sound works! Zorikh
