When I create a Snapshot from a 360 video, then upload it to Facebook, the photo shows up flat, not in 360. Is there anything I need to do in order to make it show up as a 360 photo?

Did you look at/read the instruction on facebook to upload and view the image? I know that there are special instructions for uploading to YouTube and that it takes hours for the 360 version to be available. The 2D version on YouTube is availabe until the 360 is ready.

How long did you wait? .

It's the same for me in both YouTube and Facebook. After uploading they appear flat, but after a while (not sure how long) they appear in 360 view.

Hi Sal1212 -

I just tested the Facebook upload and it seems to be working just fine - https://www.facebook.com/PDtoots

That's just a snapshot from the sample clip that comes with Gear 360 ActionDirector. It appeared as a 360 photo almost instantly... no waiting at all.

Here's what I did:

  1. 360 project (setting)

  2. Import 360 video

  3. Enable 360 viewer (under Preview window)

  4. Select frame & take snapshot - 360 icon in top right corner of thumbnail

  5. Upload to FB & follow prompts

  6. Screenshot attached.

Cheers - Tony
