Youtube no longer processing uploaded video files - potential B-frame / GOP issue

Hi:

I posted this issue in the YouTube forum and someone came back with this:

"YouTube requires 2 B-frames to process (the M number). Yours is above that."

I've been successfully uploading videos exactly the same way with the same settings in PowerDirector with no problem. Several people posted that YouTube changed some settings about 2 months ago. Here's what YouTube says they now require:

Video codec: H.264Progressive scan (no interlacing)High Profile2 consecutive B framesClosed GOP. GOP of half the frame rate.CABACVariable bitrate. No bitrate limit required, though we offer recommended bit rates below for referenceChroma subsampling: 4:2:0

Here is a mediainfo of my file that failed:

GeneralComplete name : C:\temp\4086ellington2newsong.mpgFormat : MPEG-PSFile size : 1.23 GiBDuration : 6 min 58 sOverall bit rate mode : VariableOverall bit rate : 25.3 Mb/sVideoID : 224 (0xE0)Format : MPEG VideoFormat version : Version 2Format profile : Main@HighFormat settings, BVOP : YesFormat settings, Matrix : CustomFormat settings, GOP : M=3, N=15Format settings, picture structure : FrameDuration : 6 min 58 sBit rate mode : VariableBit rate : 24.6 Mb/sMaximum bit rate : 32.0 Mb/sWidth : 1 920 pixelsHeight : 1 080 pixelsDisplay aspect ratio : 16:9Frame rate : 29.970 (30000/1001) FPSColor space : YUVChroma subsampling : 4:2:0Bit depth : 8 bitsScan type : InterlacedScan order : Top Field FirstCompression mode : LossyBits/(Pixel*Frame) : 0.395Time code of first frame : 00:00:00:00Time code source : Group of pictures headerGOP, Open/Closed : OpenGOP, Open/Closed of first frame : ClosedStream size : 1.20 GiB (97%)AudioID : 189 (0xBD)-128 (0x80)Format : AC-3Format/Info : Audio Coding 3Mode extension : CM (complete main)Format settings, Endianness : BigMuxing mode : DVD-VideoDuration : 6 min 58 sBit rate mode : ConstantBit rate : 256 kb/sChannel(s) : 2 channelsChannel positions : Front: L RSampling rate : 48.0 kHzFrame rate : 31.250 FPS (1536 spf)Compression mode : LossyStream size : 12.8 MiB (1%)

My question is, how do I change the B-frame setting and other settings YouTube requires so they will successfully process uploaded videos? Thank you in advance.

I've tried it 6 times with my account. Youtube won't process after it hits 100%. Then tried a different export (AVI) and the AVI finished processing. With the export as described in my opening post, I tried to upload using a friend's youtube account. Same problem - youtube will not finish processing it (error message attached).

Forgive me, I'm a beginner with video, but how do I export to a Progressive - High Profile - CABAC?

Thanks again in advance.

your upload was in MPEG-PS container but interlaced as your mediainfo describes...

your successful upload in AVI container is still interlaced videos.

my recommendation was render it in Progressive MP4 container or wrapper.

when you're at the Produce windows, choose H.264 AVC. scroll down to MP4 and you can use default settings or

create a custom profile by clicking on the +.

I kindly thank you for that, sir. Your suggestion fixed the issue. And thank you for that screenshot. Strange that out of the blue, YouTube decided to enforce those settings while all the other videos I exported and uploaded were fine. Thanks again. ISSUE RESOLVED.
