So the video will be uploaded to a YT channel that's not "yours"? Since you need to upload it (somewhere) in any case, would it be possible to temporarily gain access to the channel? That would save upload > download > upload.
If that's not an option, you'd need to find out what format/profile the channel "owner" would prefer.

H.264 MPEG-4 is pretty standard for YouTube. The stock AVC H.264 MP41920x1080/30p (16Mbps) would be a good choice.
If file size is an issue, you could use a Windows Media (WMV), but video quality won't be as good.
