Edit Audio Then Save As MP3
[Post New]
I did right click on the video track in PowerDirector14

Audio Director 6 opened with the Audio file.

Now how can i save the audio file as an MP3 ?

Hello Oceans_Blue,

When you've edited your audio clip in ADR, then click "Back" to return to PDR, you'll see the edited WAV file in the Media Library & the timeline.

Because you sent the audio from PDR, the Produce option would be greyed out in ADR. If you import the video or separate audio directly into ADR, you'll be able to Produce to MP3.

You can also do the same thing in PDR, by producing to an audio only profile.

As per my attached two screen shots, I don't have a Produce button in ADR

and in PDR i don't have the MP3 as an option.

So not too sure what is missing at my end.

My apologies,

I'd forgotten there was no option to produce to MP3 in PDR.

The reason there is no Produce option available in ADR is that you've sent the audio clip from PDR. If you (forgetting about PDR for a moment) just open ADR as a standalone, you'll have all the produce options abvailable.

Again, apologies for my mistake.

NP. We all make mistakes.

The way this was produced. EasyCapture gadget, from RCA to USB in PDR, click Capture, start recording. But it was only an Audio file, which was captured as a video file.

However, I really need this file as an MP3. Any idea how?

Yes,

As I've tried to explain above, forget about PDR.

  1. Open ADR as a standalone

  2. Import that edited WAV file (it will be in your PDR export folder)

  3. Click Produce - select MP3

Good deal.

But not too sure what version you use, as i don't have a "Produce" button

I click

File then select Produce. MP3 got produce in less than 3 seconds.

Thanks a Lot !

I'm pleased you got your MP3 produced.

In ADR, the Produce button is greyed out when you come from PDR. It's only active when you run ADR as a standalone. You've worked that out now!
