Combining pieces of tracks into one

I imported two audio files into AudioDirector and have them sitting as Track 1 and Track 2 in the editing screen. My mission was to switch between tracks, saving relevent pieces as I go into a new recording. I'm just not seeing this in the user manual. I started by playing Track 1, muting Track 2. The master track volume meter bounces around but I don't know how to make it record. Am I way off the beam?

Hello Jednick,

Welcome to the ADR forum laughing

It's not necessary to record. With the two tracks aligned, split each track at the desired points & mute unwanted sections, then you can produce your master.

That basic process will give you a very rough mix, switching between tracks. Each split section can be edited separately to add fades/pans/effects etc.

Thank you, Pix! It me a while to get the hang of it, but then it went well.

It took me a while too, when I first attempted it. I'm pleased you've got your mixing going.
