I have recently gotten error messages:

"intel HD graphics display driver for windows has stopped responding and has recovered."

Also,

"PDR.exe has been blocked from accessing graphics hardware"

and,

"Definition Update for Windows Defender - Error 0x80070643"

I HAVE NO IDEA WHICH ONE IS THE CULPRIT!!!!

I have audio, but the screen is black. It is almost as if I have a black pip blocking the video I am trying to edit in the time line, but I don't....
Also, when I click on the clip, I see it, but when I try to run it to watch, it is black.

That is a nice picture of a thread ! What is it supposed to show?

When was the last time you rebooted? Do you do any registry cleaning - programs that propose to fix your registry?

Did you add any programs or did you update any? What other changes have you made to your computer? If you Google for that error, there are several possibilities.

Go here. https://www.google.com/webhp?sourceid=chrome-instant&ion=1&espv=2&ie=UTF-8#q=PDR.exe+has+been+blocked+from+accessing+graphics+hardware

Don't do any registry fixes unlesss you have the experts help.

Have you tried a Windows restore?

Hi Angela,
Thank you for posting your recent issue as a new topic.

You appear to be having a rough time with your computer/graphics and your video editing experience has not been the most pleasant (as it should be). Steve has pointed you in the direction to go. You need to take your computer to a tech who can check the hardware and re-install everything, remember to back up all your video and projects. The best any online support and forum can give you, is a guess. A techie, with your computer can check everything or sell you a better computer.

Just my opinion.
Dafydd

She should know by now that creating two threads on the same subject is a no-no. yell

Now she knows why - two threads = two conflicting answers -- which one to chose? .

I am sorry I created two threads, I think I got overwhelmed and couldn't remember what/when/if I had posted. It turned out that after changing some of the graphic card settings, the black screen went away. Thankfully. And, thank you!
