Rendering to CineForm in PD13? Any clue how? Alternative?

Hi everybody, and first of all good day!

I've searched this forum and couldn't find a useful answer. Here is my inquiry:

I'm using PD13 (64-bits) on W7 to edit CineForm 1280x720p50 clips. It works like a charm! I would like to render finalized project to CineForm to obtain a master. Now, cannot see this option in my PD13. Under AVI, available output options are nowhere near the project specs (1280x720p50). I can of course keep my PD13 "project" as master, and output to MP4 or whatever. But I would really prefer CineForm.

Original clips are AVCHD from a Sony VG20 transcoded into Cineform via GoPro Studio using clip's original specs.

Any suggestion? Alternative setting for a professional level output?

PS: I just crossed that thread about Magic+PD codec. I'll give it a try!

The "basic" AVIs available in PD are very limited in 64 bit. In 32 bit other options can be made to work. I used to render to DivX sometimes, but alas, none of the old codecs work in 64 bit PD. I wrote to DivX several times but they're not interested. If you want to stay totally within the PD program, the options, though plentiful, are exactly as you see.

Certainly I have no doubt that Cineform and others could be an export option in PD but that would be a business decision between many entities and probably require a license fee as well, so it is part platform part legal part end-user part price point. Never really gave you an alernative,
Try this, place an original clip from the Sony into a new empty timeline.
Go to Produce.
Click on the SVRT button and see if PD generates a new profile.
That profile matching the original sourceclip might be a good choice for archiving or master.

Just working from memory I think CineForm is just a version of mp4, but AVI may also be an option. If the original is avchd I would match the original setting for output and then use CineForm studio to convert. Me personally, I would just save as a high quality video as Barry described. Good compatibility and less processing to reduce quality. __________________________________

welcome to the forum, though I must say your initial post is, er, cryptic to be kind.
However, back to the OP...DivX is the only other AVI option I ever had appear in my user-interface in PD, and only in 32-bit, I never really attempted to investigate/test others so Cineform is theoretical as far as PowerDirector goes. Furthermore, "AVI" is a rather general term including all sorts of file types and I was referring only to what I could find under the PD-AVI menu. HP Envy Phoenix/4thGen i7-4770(4@3.4GHz~turbo>3.9)

Hi, Swisskiss!

In either PD8 or PD14 I've not seen the Cineform option anywhere, in AVI or any other file type. My only guess here is that such an option is perhaps available via a third-party software. Produce your clip in PD13 to MPEG2 HQ, MP4(H.264) or whichever, then import that to whichever third-party software you're using(if you have such software) and convert to Cineform in that software. Sorry I can't offer any other suggestions.

I tried to use smart svrt on a cineform video once and PD would not even create a custom profile. I will take another look later, but i just don't think they are compatible __________________________________
